I will write in English, because this question is also addressed to our Bulgarian friends:

I am preparing a trip through Bulgaria, and I will have a Balkan Flexipass as a ticket. So, I would have a couple of questions:

1) For whicht trains is reservation obligatory?
2) Are there any trains for which I would have to pay a supplement to the flexipass (like here in Romania for the IC for instance)?
3) Is there a possibility to store the luggage in the central railway in Sofia during the day?
4) Is there any Bulgarian or Romanian sleeping car Bucuresti-Sofia on R383 Bulgaria Express or only the RZD/UZ ones?

Term of validity from the beginning to the end of journey.

Return tickets
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling. For holidays and in the summer season, tickets are sold 20 days in advance.
Conditions of use Return tickets are issued for all categories of trains. The passenger must have his ticket stamped at the station before the return journey, otherwise when checked in the return train he will be considered as a passenger without a ticket. The only exception is in the case when the return journey starts from an unmanned hault then the ticket is stamped by the ticket collector in the train.
Term of validity the return journey should end by 24:00 hrs at the latest on:

the day of the journey or the last day of a weekend or national holiday period, when they are consecutive for a distance of up to 100 km;
the third day as of the date of onward journey for distances of up to 300 km;
the thirtieth days as of the date of onward journey for distances of more than 300 km.
Special Return tickets
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling. For holidays and in the summer season, tickets are sold 20 days in advance.
Conditions of use the special return tickets are issued for fast and express trains along particular routes. The onward and return route should be the same. Before the return journey, the passenger must get his ticket stamped at the station.
Term of validity 30 days as of the date of journey.

Weekend tickets
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling. For holidays and in the summer season, tickets are sold 20 days in advance
Conditions of use Holiday return tickets are issued for passenger trains for suburban zones at distances up to 50 km. The tickets are valid for the return trip with an obligatory validation and a slip issued for the number of the train. A passenger without this slip and with a non-validated ticket in the train is considered to be without a ticket. Exceptions are made in cases when the return trip started from a non-serviced station. The ticket is then validated in the train and a slip for the number of the train is issued.
Term of validity until 24:00 hours on the last day of Saturdays, Sundays and official holidays, when they are consecutive.

Urban Tickets
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling.
Conditions of use urban tickets are issued for regional and fast trains within a particular urban zone.
Terms of validity - from beginning to end of travel.

Group travel tickets
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling.
Conditions of use group travel tickets are issued for organized groups of passengers a minimum of 10 people and 1 group leader. The group leader should submit two copies of a list with the names of the group members and their birthdates. The group is entitled to 20% discount from the regular price and a return ticket is issued. The preliminary seat reservation is obligatory. The price for the reservation of each seat is 0.5 lev.
Children below 7 travel free when the relevant responsible person provides a letter and two stamped and signed copies of a list with the names of the children. For each 5 children there should be 1 supervising adult, who is entitled to the same discount.
Students below 26 are entitled to 75% discount when the relevant responsible person provides a letter and two stamped and signed copies of a list with the names of the students and their birthdates. If the students in the group come from different schools/universities, the name of the relevant educational institution should be indicated in the list of students. The students should be holders of a Student pass. For each 10 students there should be one supervising adult, who is entitled to the same discount.
Term of validity 30 days as of the date of journey. The return journey should end at 24:00 hrs at the latest on the thirtieth day. Within the term of validity of the ticket, the group is entitled to an unlimited number of intermediate stops. If such occur the group should obtain a certificate at the station, where it interrupted its journey, for the number of train with which it will continue to travel.

One-way tickets for small groups of 3 6 passengers
Preliminary sales tickets are sold by railway offices and at the stations up to 5 days prior to the date of traveling. For holidays and during the summer season, tickets are sold 20 days in advance
Conditions of use for small groups of 3 6 people, traveling together along the same route. Children between 7 and 10 years old are counted as one passenger.
Interim stops in the journey are not allowed
Terms of validity - from beginning to end of travel, including the immediate connection to other trains at junction stations.

Route passes
Preliminary sales route passes are sold by 94 railway offices and at stations with electronic issuing of tickets.
Conditions of use Unlimited number of travels with fast and regional trains within the term of validity. Route passes do not bear the name of the holder. They are issued for an urban zone, the whole railway network or for a separate section and are sold at regular or reduced prices.

Route passes at regular prices are valid for 5 days, one month or three months. The route pass for 5 days is issued for a particular line section of up to 100 km
Route passes at reduced prices 50% and 25% discount - are issued against a railway pass. The only exception is made for senior citizens who are not holders of Senior citizen railway pass such passengers should only present their Certificate for retirement and an ID card. This offer is valid only for Bulgarian nationals and foreign nationals, who reside permanently in Bulgaria.
Term of validity one or three months.

Seat reservations
Seat reservations are made only against a ticket or other travel document.
The price for a seat reservation in a fast train, whatever the distance and the class of traveling, is 0.50 BGN.

Tickets for sleeping cars and couchettes
Preliminary sales berths and couchettes are booked, together with the tickets, at the railway offices up to 30 days prior to the date of traveling.
The prices for a bed or a couchette, whatever the distance, are:
- couchette 4 BGN;
- bed in a second class compartment 8 BGN;
- bed in a first class compartment 10 BGN;
- bed, business-class (single compartment) 15 BGN.
Conditions of use beds and couchettes are booked only against a ticket or other traveling document.
For children up to the age of 7, bed reservations are made if they occupy a separate bed; apart from the bed price, half the price of the ticket for traveling is paid.
For children up to the age of 10 bed reservations are made if they occupy a separate bed,
The price for a bed is also paid in the cases of free tickets and tickets with reduced prices, unless there is a different provision.
There is no reduction in the price for a bed.
Term of validity from beginning to end of travel.

In Bulgaria mai exista o linie ferata de ecartament ingust pentru transportul calatorilor. Garniturile sunt tractate de locomotive diesel seriile 75, 76 si 77.

Locomotivele din seria 75 au fost aduse in numar de 10 bucati in perioada 1963-1965. Au fost construite la Henschel - Kassel si au fost numerotate de la 75.001 pana la 75.010. Mai sunt si astazi cateva in circulatie. Iata cateva locomotive din seria 75:

In perioada 1976-1977, au fost livrate in Bulgaria 15 vehicule asemanatoare cu locomotivele Henschel-germane, insa acestea au fost construite la Bucuresti, la Uzinele 23 August. Acestea au fost catalogate cu seria 76, fiind numerotate la inceput de la 76-01 la 76-15 apoi din anul 1988 de la 76-001 la 76-015. Aceste locomotive au avut o fiabilitate mult mai scazuta decat locomotivele germane. Mai circula si astazi cateva locomotive din seria 76 . Locomotiva 76-011 este rezervata Muzeului Cailor Ferate. Locomotiva 76-012 a fost transferata in Argentina pentru o companie miniera. Vor mai fi duse in Argentina si 76-005 si 76-006. In anul 1988 au fost comandate la Bucuresti inca 10 locomotive de acest gen, asemanatoare cu celelalte. Acestea au primit seria 77, fiind numerotate de la 77-001 la 77-010, fiind construite tot la Uzinele 23 August. Din cauza scaderii traficului BDZ, cateva locomotive din seria 77 au fost vandute in Argentina. Acestea sunt 77.001, 77.003, 77.004, 77.007 si 77.010. Asadar, locomotivele noastre romanesti din Bulgaria au ajuns in Argentina. Iata cateva poze si cu locomotivele din seria 77:

Ce frumoasa e locomotiva, fabricata de Henschel producator de material rulant german care apoi a fost cumparat de Adtranz (Daimler-Chrysler) si apoi de Bombardier. Locomotive din astea n-ar strica sa avem si noi sa le pune pe liniile inguste care au mai ramas

Si cand te gandesti ca in Bulgaria locomotivele din seriile 76 si 77, identice cu seria 75, au fost fabricate la noi in Romania, in Bucuresti! Mai jos postez un 76 si un 77. Cum de nu am facut si pentru noi cateva???

Asta nu stiam Very Happy mda specific romanesc Smile) pt altii am facut dar pt noi am uitat sa mai facem...pacat. Eu unul daca as fi la minister as da ordine sa se mai construiasca linii inguste mai ales in zonele turistice si in zonele unde o cale ferata normala nu se poate construi din motive tehnice. Germanii au cateva foarte bine intretinute, una prin Turingia si mai stiu de una foarte intretinuta in Pomerania si pe insula Rugen, tractiunea e facuta cu aburoase iar ecartamentul e de 1 m, dar sunt si cu ecartament de 750 mm. Cand eram mic aici la mine in zona, in Roznov a existat o cale ferata ingusta care era destinata transportului de busteni de la comunele invecinate Tazlau si Nechit la fabrica de cherestea din Roznov. Cred ca erau in total vreo 30 de km de cale ferata forestiera daca nu si mai mult, iar acum daca vii sa te uiti pe teren nu se mai cunoaste absolut nimic, doar batranii ce pot sa mai confirme existenta ei.

Din 20 de bucati clasa 76 si 77 au mai ramas 2 clasa 76 006 008 iar din clasa 77 4 bucati 002 005 008 009 iar 5 bucati au fost vandute in Argentina

Hoinarind prin orasul bulgaresc Ruse, am mai descoperit o gara de care nu stiam, cu un trafic feroviar intens. Nu stiu daca mai este folosita si pentru transportul de calatori insa am vazut si garnituri cu vagoane de calatori dar probabil de la gara centrala se indreptau spre remiza. Am vazut 4 tipuri de locomotive printre care cele mai frecevente erau Skoda, in numar de 4 bucati. Poate colegii nostri din Bulgaria ne dau mai multe informatii despre aceasta gara.
